Mermaids Lagoon is a cardigan that is worked from the top down, seamlessly and flat. It features raglan shaping, cap sleeves and an A-line shape. The upper bodice has a “pearl” pattern with a “net” waist band and “fish scale lace” on the lower body. Button bands are picked up at each front edge and buttons are applied on a little more than half of the band, beginning at the neck edge.

It is a quick and easy little girl’s cardigan that is a great introductory to new techniques, such as, lace, textured stitches, short rows and picking up stitches.
