This beautiful and easy to make triangle shawl is perfect for the transitioning seasons. Shawl is knit from the top down to tip, and once you get going it is an easy 2-row repeat. Use your stitch markers thoughtfully! I use a green marker to mark the beginning of my “knit only” row, and a red stitch marker to mark my “increase” rows. It’s tremendously helpful when knitting in front of the tv.

Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball will give you those gorgeous gradual color change, and I highly recommend it. If you substitute another yarn, just pay attention to the size needle you’ll need. Shawl in a ball is marked on the label as a worsted weight, but really, it is closer to light weight (3). SO, substitute with a light yarn and use a size 7 needle, but if you go up to a worsted weight yarn (4), be sure to go up to an 8 or even size 9 needle (especially for those heavier weight worsted, like Caron one pound), just to make sure your shawl has the drape it needs.

Bind off extra loose, or, even better, use a russian lace bind off, which is basically instead of passing one stitch over another after knitting them, you will knit the 2 stitches together through the back loop, just as if you were working an SSK.

Don’t forget to share pictures, I want to see what you make!! Happy knitting!
