Metaphorical Heart Surgeon (Cancer) is available individually and as part of the Zodiac Collection. 12 patterns inspired by each Zodiac sign.

Cancer’s are patient, creative, sentimental, and compassionate. Cancers like the comfort of the familiar and are drawn to stability and routine. They have an attraction to the past and they try to keep traditions alive. They like art that reminds them of a different time and clothes that have a story to them. For them, I design a shawl with a traditional Shetland lace pattern and modern top-down construction. The colors are moonlit shades of lilac and silver. A combination of lace weight yarn, dreamy colors, and delicate fabric results in an ultra-romantic and nostalgic look. The shawl is an homage to family and traditional lace patterns.

Are you a Cancer? I would love to hear from you. Let me know in the comments if the pattern fits your personality.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
This lightweight shawl combines a deep garter stitch section with a lovely lace edging. It has a classic triangular shape with a central spine.
The shawl is started by casting on 5 stitches (with no need for a garter tab). The increase rate is 6 stitches every right side row: two stitches at each side and two in the center. The result is a shallow triangle with long wings, very comfortable to wear and keep on your shoulders.
Pattern is offered with full written instructions and lace charts.
