The socks are worked in the round from the top down. Instructions are given for working the socks on 4 or 5 double pointed needles. However, the pattern can easily be adapted for knitting on 2 circular needles, or on 1 circular needle, using magic loop.

Both charts as well as written instructions are provided.

Metasequoia glyptostroboides (common name Dawn Redwood). The only proof of the existence of this tree was based on preserved specimens in the Canadian Arctic (50 million old). It was thought to be extinct until 1941 when a few trees were discovered in China. Their seeds were distributed in 1948. It is a fast growing deciduous conifer and we have several specimens thriving in our garden. The largest of five shades one of my favourite knitting spots on the back deck. This conifer is deciduous and its needles are very soft and feathery.
