Or use a needle size to obtain gauge after blocking

Notions
Stitch markers (one in a distinct color or style for BOR), tapestry needle, waste yarn, crochet hook

Gauge
23 sts and 36 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Woven Pattern using larger needles after blocking

Notes
The hat calls for a provisional cast on. If you’re unfamiliar with this technique, you can find helpful explanations on sites like Knitty and VeryPink.

When knitting the Woven Pattern, be sure the tension of the floats at the front of the work is not too tight. Tight floats will cause the fabric to pucker.
