Whether you choose to wear this as a sleeveless top or a vest, you’ll get lots of use out the versatility of this piece. Originally worked in North Light Fibers Seaside, I’ve reimagined it in a 100% cotton yarn and added another size, it’s perfect as a sleeveless top for summer or layering as a vest in cooler weather.
The body is worked in the round in classic sand rib with a self-start, waist shaping is added to give this top a more flattering fit. Once you reach the armholes, the body is divided and the front and back are worked separately to the shoulders. Wrap and turn short-rows give some shaping to the shoulders, then the stitches are joined using Three-Needle Bind-Off. Narrow bands of garter stitch (just 3 rounds) edge the neck and armholes.
This reimagined version has the same gauge as the original pattern.
