I created this shawl for my mother, whose last name is Mid-Winter. I also created this shawl out of a necessity for a simple shawl that would keep her warm, but with enough lacy detail to be feminine and beautiful. The yarn is self-striping and incredibly soft.

This is the true beginner’s shawl, so if you’ve never made one before and are tempted to try, this would be a great one to do. It’s inexpensive to make, as you’ll only need two skeins of the Red Heart Unforgettable yarn, this shawl is made in the Petunia color that they offer. A great idea for a gift!

I’ve also included instructions for blocking at the end if you’ve never blocked before, or you’ve never blocked an acrylic garment.
