Midday sun floats through the canopy, landing softly on fallen matted pine needles, out of focus. The air is lazy, and as summer wanes she offers no temptation to the beach- not hot, not cold. Emptied of summer vacationers, the area takes on a characteristic peaceful stillness that offers contemplation for the coming changes of season. The afternoon stretches ahead, and a yearned for book is open to just the right page. Changes will be welcomed.

Pattern Notes: Socks are cast on at the toes and worked toe-up. Foot is worked to adjustable length with a peasant heel. Socks are worked seamlessly in the round to the cuff, then peasant heel is worked with decreases and grafted shut.
