A light, bright crescent featuring two traditional Shetland stitch patterns - bands of Shetland Bead pattern and Bird’s Eye pattern are separated by narrow bands of stocking stitch. Clear and colored beads add sparkles of light.

Knit on 4mm/US6 needles with three skeins (two Sulfur yellow & one Silene pink) 738yds/675m of Love Story Einband 100% Icelandic lambswool fine lace weight 1 ply yarn by Hélène Magnússon. A kit is available here.

Dimensions: approximately 22in/55cm deep by 67in/170cm
Gauge: approximately 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4ins/10cm in lace pattern

Approximately 303 size 6 beads (160 clear and 143 colored) are added to the Love Story version, and 68 to the Hedgehog version

The rust Hedgehog version was knit on 4mm/US6 needles with one skein/700m/765yds of Hedgehog Fibres Silk/Merino Lace.

The yellow Hedgehog sample was the original prototype for the pattern, knit with Hedgehog Fibres Pure Cashmere Lace yarn (now discontinued).
