Create in anticipation of Adoration with the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI in Milano Duomo on the occasion of the “World Conference of Families” in June 2012.

In keeping with the tradition of covering one’s head in black lace when in the presence of His Holiness the Pope, I wanted an alternative to the fly-away Spanish Mantilla.

Milano Snood is composed of two (very simple) aptly named stitch patterns: Tranquillity Stitch and Milano Lace.

The model shown is a size 56cm head circumference, but the pattern is written to adapt easily to any size.
