This pattern has a conservative and classic feel that seems easy to ad-lib by just knitting a sock and incorporatingcables, but the pattern is necessary in order to achieve cables that both flow seamlessly from the cuff ribbing and are symmetrically placed across the top of the foot. The pair that fits me is on the petite side, so I developed a larger size for more average-sized women’s feet that has four cables running down the foot instead ofthree.

’Milkshake’ refers to the visual similarity between rope cables and soft-serve ice cream, swirled in the cone and waiting to be inhaled. Make your favorite flavor with your favorite solid-color sock yarn!
