This is a traditional modular afghan. The twist is in the individual blocks, which feature a spiderweb-like lace motif!

This afghan is great stash-buster. You can use any color of yarn provided it is of the same weight. I used leftover fingering weight yarn from a variety of projects. To bring the color scheme together, I used a solid brown yarn, also fingering weight, for the outer edges of each block.

The blocks that make up the afghan are connected using a join-as-you-go method. The center of each motif is worked from the scrap yarn and the last 3 rounds from the solid color yarn. Since the throw is modular, you can make your blanket of any size. The size of the blanket on the pictures is 18x16 squares, which makes it perfect for a queen-size bed.
