I am really excited about this! It turned out so well! The drape is so good! The wrap has a little bit of a pie-shaping to it, thought not a lot, which makes it very easy to style! You can block it to emphasize the shape, or block with straight edges! It’s hard to capture my original enthusiasm, because I’ve written this introduction at least twice and failed to save it, but this is close!

Mina Shawl!

Mina is a wrap with unique shaping and interesting textures. The sample is blocked to emphasize the batlike shape, but you can also block the edges straight if that’s a look you’d prefer.

As written, this shawl uses a speckle-dyed yarn and then moves into a more solid colorway. The effect is nice, but there’s enough going on with this design to make a solid single-color project effective, too.

Materials:

  • 425 yards or 1 skein Malabrigo Sock in C1 (shown in Legend colorway); 420 yards or 1 skein Malabrigo Sock in C2 (shown in Piedras).
  • 1 48”circular needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.
  • 5-7 removable stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge:
Gauge is 19 sts and 40 rows in 4”/10cm in blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge. This comes very close to using a whole skein in each color!
