My sister’s boyfriend sent me a dark, grainy photograph of a stocking cap he saw in a miners’ display at a museum, asking me if I could make him one. The Miner Stocking Cap is the result.

Its ribbed cap band adjusts to fit almost any size head. The body is worked in half double crochets (less up tight than a single crochet but not as loose as a double crochet :) There is one small seam in the hat band and then rest of the cap is worked seamlessly in rounds. Looks great in stripes!

Any worsted weight yarn should work, although I used Patons Classic Wool.
