Need some quick Christmas Ornaments? This mini sock pattern might be just the thing. It knits up quickly using standard top-down heel flap sock construction and is a good way to use up bits of left over sock yarn. If you have never knit a sock before, then you can use this pattern to work through the process.

The pattern provides instructions for 4 different mini socks:

  • Plain sock using one color
  • Sock with contrasting cuff, heel and toe using two colors.
  • Sock with contrasting cuff, heel and toe plus some contrasting stripes using two colors.
  • Sock with contrasting cuff, heel and toe with a striped sock body using three colors.

Materials / Notions Needed

  • 30-40 yards of yarn depending on your gauge. Gauge is not important but will affect the amount of yarn used.
  • 2 US 1.5 (2.5mm) circular needles, double points, or single circular or size to obtain gauge
  • 2.75mm crochet hook
  • a tapestry needle
  • markers
