Having recently spent far too long at an airport baggage claim carousel, watching as dozens of identical black duffel bags went around and around, soccer team members each looking for his own bag, I was reminded of the need for easily identifiable luggage. In a world of black rollies and duffels,our luggage needs a way to stand out from the crowd. Giant pompons are nice, and day-glow duct tape is functional, but, as a knitter, I choose colorful tiny socks and mittens. These tags are constructed exactly like their bigger brothers and sisters and have the added advantage of working as a space to tuck in your home address and destination, just in case your bag gets misplaced. These tags are also a super way to use up the yarn left over from those socks you’ve made.
