When creating this skirt, I was inspired by Mia, my son’s hip, vegan bike-commuting babysitter. She wears little miniskirts over her (often striped) leggings, which lets her look cool while riding her bike and playing with kids. I wanted something with the same sort of edginess so I chose black and claret. I wanted durability and Red Heart yarn makes this a skirt that can stand up to any activity, and doesn’t get baggy or saggy with wear. This project is great for scarf makers who want to branch out--its fun and fast to make and requires no special shaping techniques. It’s just a rectangle!
