My prototypes were intended as Easter decoration, but of course your own egg could be just a toy for the children in your life or non-seasonal decoration for the minion fans. This is a quick knit for intermediate knitters, and maybe even an ambitious advanced beginner could manage it. The eyes are the only fiddly part, so if you don’t have the skills or patience for them, you may want to make yours out of felt or crochet them.

This cute decorative egg is worked in the round starting from the middle of the bottom with the disappearing loop cast on (or another circular cast on of your choice, or even the long-tail cast on and a bit of extra sewing). The eyes are worked separately (again in the round) and then sewn to the body.

Other tools and materials:
• toy stuffing
• tapestry/yarn needle
• stitch marker (optional)
• two small black buttons for the eyes (optional)
• sewing thread and sewing needle for the buttons (if any are used)
• any removable placement markers for eyes (optional)
