This was one of my first major knitting projects after moving to Minnesota from the South. To say I had no idea how cold it could get during the winter was an understatement! I needed something heavy, thick, and long enough to hide my head on a windy day. The scarf I have pictured is at least 6 years old and has been with me through many subzero adventures. The coldest I’ve ventured outside with my scarf is about -20F (-28C). Needless to say, it’s my most loved knitted item.

The original pattern was based on the Harry Potter scarves from the early movies, so if you or someone you knows is a fan then just substitute for the appropriate colors. It’s an easy knit, just time consuming.
