This playful, cozy beanie is worked in the round from the bottom up with textured stripes in three colors. The deep brim is folded inward and anchored with a row of k2tog stitches. The pattern calls for the slip stitch method to align stripes, so the end-of-round moves one stitch to the left with each color change. After the last stripe at the top of the hat, you’ll continue with the main color to knit the fun, surprisingly simple sculpted pom on top.

The pattern has been tech edited and tested. The instructions are written, not charted.

Sizes: Designed in 2” increments to fit head circumference from preemie (14”) to extra-large (24”). The negative ease ranges from 2” for preemie to 4” for adult XL

Skills: The moderately easy, in-the-round knit consists mainly of knit, purl and slip stitches, as well as m1l to increase and ssk to decrease. All color changes occur at the beginning of the round so you carry the resting yarn vertically. Stripes align nicely, using the slip-stitch method.

Yarn: DK weight, resilient. Samples shown in Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% merino, 30% silk)
