This cardigan was designed as a ‘stash-buster’. I made two versions for the magazine: the smaller one (UK size 8-10) is made entirely using Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK in a bright array of colours with pale grey bands and the larger one (UK size 16-18) is made using lots of different yarns left over from different projects, mostly DK weights but also double strands of 4-ply and a few single stripes of fancier yarns such as Rowan Kid Classic. It is possible to use small amounts of yarn that do not knit to the correct tension (gauge) as long as you limit them to the occasional one-row stripe. Once again, I am thrilled to be able to design a project that includes larger sizes. The largest size given is 16-18 but, to be honest, as this is a loose-fitting garment, it would fit someone two sizes larger than this. Though I knitted these on size 3.75mm needles, do check your tension as you may need to use 4.00mm needles if you are a tight knitter.
