As written, this garter stitch blanket uses one vareigated and two coordinating solid colors. The mitered squares can be worked separately and then joined, or joined as they are worked. A rectangular border is picked up and knit along each side, with mini-squares worked in each corner.

It’s easy to add squares using this technique for a larger afghan, or only work a few to cover a matching throw pillow.
