The style of mittens shown on the cover of Marcia Lewandowski’s Folk Mittens have always intrigued me. One day, I decided to recreate the shapes using ribbed entrelac instead of the traditional stranded knitting. The resulting mittens are cozy and stretchy for a warm, comfortable, snug fit. The mittens are seamless, worked from the top down and in the round, While the top shaping and thumb construction make them a little challenging, there are clear diagrams and written directions to guide you through to regular entrelac. The entrelac bind off gives a beautiful finish. The mittens are shown in three colors, but look great in two colors also, or in many colors from your stash.
