This jacket uses the best of multidirectional techniques combined with the best of variegated or handdyed yarns. It’s a very detailed pattern and fascinating to work, calling for 1 skein each of 8 different colourways of the yarn. Options are provided for knitting the jacket in pieces, then assembling-- or, making the whole garment in one piece, seamlessly. While the patterning itself is largely (but not entirely) done in garter stitch, you have enough to think about that the work is never boring, and the magical effects of colour changes enchant you as you go. You would be sorry when you finished it, except that you then have the joy of dazzling all onlookers.
