Mittens

The Mittens pattern is part of the eBook called R35 Handgear for the Family, and is not sold separately.

If you prefer, R35 Handgear for the Family is available in a printed version. CLICK HERE to purchase.

Materials:

  • Heavy worsted weight yarn. You’ll need a full 3½ oz skein to knit any of the pair except the wristers. I’d suggest you search your stash for them.
  • #4 or #5 dpns, or whatever size you need to attain gauge

Sizes:

  • Child Medium (6” hand)
  • Child Large/Ladies Small (6½” hand)
  • Ladies Medium/Men’s Small (7½” hand)
  • Ladies Large/Men’s Medium (8½” hand)
  • Men’s Large (9½” hand)

Gauge: 5 sts = 1” in each pattern

Skill Level:

  • Advanced beginner (wrister and mittens)
  • Intermediate (gloves)

I discovered the peasant gusset when studying my daughter Lori’s purchase of some warm, colorful Peruvian knit gloves. It is a delight to knit and worked beautifully in not just a glove design, but in the wristers and mittens as well.
