Corrugated ribbing, fair isle and Scandivanian designs of your choice. Select your own motifs (charts) and create a unique Christmas stocking for your family, pet or friends. Knit in the round in worsted weight yarns, this stocking will surely become a treasured heirloom. The “afterthought” heel is worked last. Let your imagination and/or colors run wild.

Motifs include Peppermint Swirls, Starmints, Bells, Ornaments, Reindeer, Bow, Peaks & Stars, Christmas Trees, Holly Swag, and border options.

NOTE: Knitters love to personalize their projects including different motifs and/or names that they have found elsewhere or devised on their own. I highly encourage this creativity! When looking at project photos please be aware that you will see these additions which are not included in this pattern.

This pattern uses the traditional “Afterthought” heel method to add the heel last. You will need some smooth waste yarn to work the heel placement area. If you are not familiar with this heel it would be very helpful to check some tutorials. It’s easy once you get it.
