There comes a time when fashion has to move over and make way for some warmth and comfort.

In this maddy laine pattern, two easy-to-knit pieces make up this head and neck covering. Knit a tube on a circular needle and a rectangle on straight needles, join together, and close the back hood seam.

If you tack down the point of the hood (to eliminate any resemblance to a Hobbit), and pompom the point (if you so choose), you’re ready to head out and face the winter.

Finished Measurements
Cowl (circumference x height) – (22 x 6)”/(56 x 15)cm
Hood (height) – 9½”/24cm

The knitting pattern, written in both US and metric measurements, includes a schematic drawing and an assembly diagram.
