Born as “Mystery no Mystery KAL” at in tiziana’s corner Ravelry Group, it is now a complete pattern called “Italian Garden”.

At the end of the KAL we had a contest to choose the name for the shawl. There have been many great suggestions and one of them was by bbknitting who wrote:
“It makes me think of a formal garden. I see triangular and oval flower beds with things like 3 in 3 and crossed stitches for flowers. The flower beds are separated by pathways for strolling.
I’d suggest “Italian Garden”, but there’s probably a beautiful garden in Italy that would make a much more elegant name. “

As a search result in Google I found some pictures of Italian botanical garden which look like some motifs of this design so … Italian Garden it is !!

The download page contains 3 files :

  • the swatch file.
  • the PDF with the charts without colored background for the cables.
  • the PDF with the charts which have the cable symbols with colored background.

This shawl is worked from neck down with about 670m - 920m / 733yd - 1007yd of a fingering weight yarn or lace weight yarn and needles size 3.5 - 4.00mm ( or size to obtain gauge).

If beads are placed according to the pink background on pattern, there will be 44 beads for PART A, 16 for PART B, 172 for PART C, 32 for PART D and 114 for PART E,
for a total of 378 beads.
