This is an oversized shawl which is a very good first lace knitting project. It was designed and named for my good friend Margaret Owen, the artist.

NOTE: People are finding that Harrisville Shetland knits up beautifully without changing any stitch numbers. It comes in lovely colors and you can order a single cone to make it.

There is a lot of stockinette stitch in it and lace comprised of 4 row repeats.

I used 4 skeins of Tosh Vintage but any worsted weight yarn will do so it’s a great stashbuster. If you need advice about yarn, please send me a Ravelry message.

It is easily tailored to the size that you want and is great knitting for movie watching and conducive to throwing it down (always a requirement in my book) to wrestle Junior away from the toilet plunger which he likes to sneak into his sister’s doll bed. After the action I can pick it right up and just keep knitting without getting lost.

The adventures of Junior and family can be witnessed at Casapinka.
