NEW: November 2022 - Pattern has been updated for a slightly thinner yarn (Mary Maxim Prism) as the original yarn is no longer available. Pretty border pattern has been added. Older and newer files still available to download! Link to video for the motif also included.

This is a modern and elegant hexagon motif to make excellent use of your favorite self-striping yarn. 3 rounds in a self-striping yarn and 1 round in a coordinating solid and you will quickly complete your motifs. Slip stitch the motifs together for a beautiful and luxurious throw. Quick, easy, and addictive! (Some people have joined the motifs using a Join-as-you-go technique but I did not do that and do not include instructions on how to do that!)

With a self-striping yarn, colors are ever-changing and it is fun to see each motif develop differently. The final solid round defines the flower and shapes the hexagon.

In my original, I used 9 skeins of Treasure in color Tapestry (now discontinued) and 4 skeins of Heartland in color Sequoia.

Now included: Half-hexagon pattern so you can make a rectangular afghan with straight sides.
