These are the socks that brought my knitting Mojo back. This past December, I didn’t knit. At all. Not one stitch. I was tired, I was busy, life was hectic, and my knitting mojo was nowhere to be found. Selena (the talented dyer at Wayfaring yarns) sent me a set of beautiful mini-skeins for a knee-high sock design that we had been talking about.

The colours were gorgeous, the yarn was soft, and there were sparkles! This was enough to lure my mojo back from where ever it went and I’m happy to report that’s it’s been back ever since.

Mojo is worked from the toe up with evenly distributed colour changes that are transitioned with a simple, 8 round colour chart. To ensure each section of colour is equal and to ensure the sock is shaped to fit your unique feet and calves, some math and knowledge of sock anatomy is required to complete this project.

Since bodies are all wonderfully diverse and beautifully different from one another, we’ll each require different calf shaping at different rates of increase. With this in mind, Mojo is both a pattern and a recipe, with notes to help you modify the pattern to ensure a perfect fit. The pattern includes a schematic to note your specific measurements, modifications, and colour changes so that both socks will be the same. You should change the measurements and rates of increase to suit your own beautiful anatomy.

If knee-highs aren’t your thing, instructions are included for mid-calf socks which will require 10 mini-skeins per pair.
