Knitted on the bias in plush, completely reversible k1p1 ribbing, Monochrome forms a zigzag using wrap-and-turn short rows as it is worked from end to end.

This pattern is the sister of Polychrome, also included in the pattern download. Where Monochrome works an elegant ribbed zig-zag in a single tone, Polychrome branches off in 6 interlocking intarsia color stripes. The download also includes a detailed tutorial for ribbed intarsia, yarn management, and special increases in the pattern.

Shown here in Cascade 220, Monochrome would look especially lovely in a semi-solid or kettle-dyed yarn. Or, consider an ombre or long color-shift yarn for color transitions along the length of the scarf.

Finished scarf measures 67.5”, and is adjustable in increments of 9”.
