This happy little monster is knit in machine-washable DK weight cotton. The intarsia panel on the front takes a bit of effort, but easy stripes and texture make the rest of the knitting go quickly.

A word of warning — there are eight colors and most of the colors use only a fraction of a skein. It will not be economical to buy a skein of each color. The blue, gold and darker turquoise require the most yardage. For the others, if you don’t have suitable colors in your stash of yarns, see if you can beg, borrow or trade to obtain a few yards.
