This cushion monster is the perfect huggable crochet project. It makes an ideal bed pal that doubles up as a comfortable pillow to sleep on. I also find these pillows are great for travelling, when you don’t want to have to pack a large, cumbersome pillow.
Worked with bulky yarn the monster pillow, works up surprisingly quick and it makes a wonderful, unique kids gift too.

Hesitant of crocheting with fluffy yarn? Do not fret. This pattern uses fluffy yarn alongside regular yarn to make it easy for you to see the stitches. I also have a comprehensive free guide at my blog which shows you different ways in which you can master crocheting with fluffy yarn.

Also, do not let the fluffy yarn mentioned in the pattern limit you; the pillow can be made in regular yarn for a different look. Or you can always use the method, where you brush the yarn after making it, to create a slightly, fuzzy look.

Pattern Notes

The pattern is available in both US and UK terminology. The two files are included with this purchase.

Gauge
Gauge is not important for this pattern. You can adjust hook and yarn size as desired, but keep in mind the size of finished object will vary. With the mentioned yarns and hook my pillow measures approximately; Circumference 44 inches (112cm), and 35.5 inches (90cm) around the middle. The pillow and horns are created using the larger hook (6.5mm). The small hook (3mm) is used to make the crochet facial details, however you can change hook size to suit your yarn weight or desired look.
