A mindless openwork pattern, a sea-scented silk yarn, and a fun, no-weaving-in-ends fringe make a great vacation project, says designer Amy R. Singer.  Work the scarf long enough to wrap around your neck several times.  It’s so light and silky that you’ll feel only the slightest caress.

Description from Interweave Knits, Summer 2007

This is the updated version of the Mimi Verylong Scarf originally published in Amy R. Singer’s Knittyblog. The Mimi Verylong scarf is no longer available online.

Notes from Amy:

  • the scarf does curl gently, giving you a wide-ish tube of mesh. that’s perfectly fine and just how I meant it to be. :-)

  • if you knit this in wool and you’re not seeing the mesh pattern clearly, then blocking might be necessary. for any non-wool, including Seasilk or any cotton, blocking is absolutely not necessary!
