Designed for the September 2016 Luxe Yarnbox.

This lace capelet is just the sort of thing one might throw on to take in the flag-throwing or the barrel rolling races in sunny Montepulciano, where majestic Tuscan castles date from the 15th century. Featuring an asymmetrical lower edge for a hint of flare, it is constructed in the round from the top down.

MATERIALS
sizing: S/M (L/XL) - bosoms up to 40” (40” and up) - adjustable neck opening with generous ease along the bottom edge.

Top-neck circumference : 27 (34)“ 68.5 (86.5) cm - neck opening may be seamed on one shoulder for a custom fit; Lower circumference : 144.5 (153)” 367 (388.5) cm

YARN 2 skeins Camelspin, 125g / 375 m 410 yds, 70% Silk, 30% Baby Camel; or 670 (720) yds 615 (660) m of fingering weight yarn
NEEDLES 40 cm 3.25 mm (US3) circular needles and 3.75 mm (US5) circular needles in sizes 40-120 cm (16-48”), which will accommodate the smaller circumference of the neckline up to the larger circumference of the lower edge; or needle sizes required to obtain gauge. If you are familiar with magic-loop style knitting in the round, you may only need one longer circular instead of multiple lengths of the 3.75 mm needles.
OTHER 3 stitch-markers, tapestry needle for weaving ends
GAUGE 4 sts & 9 rows per 1-inch square in stockinette on 3.75 mm needles
