Montgomery Scarf
This simple scarf is an ideal project for the beginner knitter. Bands of garter stitch frame a simple row of eyelets on a stocking stitch background. Just enough pattern to make this visually interesting, but not enough to make it difficult. Also, the garter stitch helps the scarf lie flat.
finished size
approximately 6.5 x 80 inches
(instructions given for modifying dimensions)
For the matching mitts, download the Montgomery Fingerless Mitts pattern.
correction Dec 16 2010, on page 2 it should read:
Rows 6-9: Knit.
Rows 10, 12, 14: Purl.
