This pattern is inspired by the rocky shoreline of Nova Scotia. These mittens are perfect for anyone yearning for the sea.

Fit:
The pattern is for a women’s medium, 7.5 inch hand circumference.
For larger or smaller sizes, change needle size and/or yarn weight to achieve desired gauge. Generally, needle size increases length more and yarn thickness increases width more.

Thumb has a side gusset.

Materials:
Any fingering weight yarn in contrasting colors. I used Zwerger Garn Opal 4-Fach in white and marine.

Needles in size needed to obtain gauge. (This ranged from 2.0mm - 2.5mm with test knitters.
Tapestry needle. Stitch markers if desired. Scrap yarn or stitch holder for holding thumb stitches.

This pattern is appropriate for an intermediate stranded knitter, or the adventurous beginner.

Errata(corrected in pattern version 23April2014): Lighthouse mitten, Row 69 st 31 should be white.
