Owls are one of the few birds that have been found in prehistoric cave paintings and legends concerning the owl are recorded in Greek, Celtic, Native American and Aborigine mythology. The owl is is especially associated with wisdom in Greek mythology and some Native tribes saw them as protective spirits.

Total yardage for the blanket is approximately 830 yards without the knit border or 1300 yards with.
