Moon’s Hat is a wearable, simple, unisex hat inspired by my good friend Moon. It’s just as happy knit up in a rustic, wooly, farmy yarn as it is in a smooth, squishy, soft yarn. It’s easy-going, unpretentious, and darn fun--much like its namesake.

Yarn

One skein of 100% North Ronaldsay wool DK--100 grams--273 yards
(this yarn is a very light dk, heavy fingering weight may work well for gauge too)
Yardage includes optional tassel

Materials

One US size 2/ 2.75mm circular needle in 16 inch length or length long enough for magic loop
One US size 3/ 3.25mm circular needle in 16 inch length or length long enough for magic loop
5 US size 3/ 3.25 mm dpns if not using magic loop
Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary
One stitch marker
One tapestry needle for finishing

Gauge

24 stitches= 4 inches in Quaker Ridge Stitch knit in the round using US 3/ 3.25mm
