“This lovely shawl features short rows to create a crescent shape which rests perfectly on your shoulders. The leafy border and Irish Moss edging make this shawl an excellent choice for a walk on the moor—where sage-scented breezes whisper between the green land and gray mists.”

Because this shawl is filled with simplistic beauty, it is an enjoyable knit for a beginning lace knitter or an experienced one.

The leaf-edging stitch pattern and Irish Moss stitch pattern are used from Interweave Press, who published Traditional Knitted Lace Shawls, the book I used in designing this pattern. Also, the image of the vines at the top of each pattern page came from an internet photo whose creator could not be determined. I inserted this photo as a border option in Microsoft Word 2010. The lace chart was made using a free website called Knit Chart.
