I made two fundamental changes to the hat that made it shorter, than the original more beanie like than well, whatever one would call it. I have issues with thinking my head is much larger than it is. So the first corrugated type band (at the top of the hat) of color b was removed, and the ribbing was made shorter.
Also, the ear flaps are much more ear-flapy than they were in the first one.

Finished measurements: (APPROXIMATE, since I am unable to locate a
single measuring tape and had to use a ruler/Needle sizer thing.)
20&3/4 inches around
7 &3/4 inches from top to end of ribbing (less ear flapage)
