The Morris Satchel is a seemingly simple bag, while a closer look reveals intricate scrolls and keyhole motifs against a ground of shifting shades of green. Use the charted alphabet to personalize this satchel with a monogrammed letter inside the knotwork frame that borders the bag or choose from four alternate motif to adorn the satchel. The bag begins flat at the bottom and is then worked in the round to the upper edge. The strap is worked as an applied i-cord edge that is joined into a larger cord at the sides and a zipper closure is sewn across the top to finish the bag. With so many motifs and designs to choose from, your Morris Satchel is sure to be one of a kind. You will need US 1 (2mm) 24” circular needles or size to obtain gauge, US 1 (2mm) DPNs or size to obtain gauge, yarn needle, stitch markers, smooth scrap yarn, crochet hook for provisional CO, 14” nylon zipper, 48” of thin cotton cord to reinforce strap (optional), fabric and sewing thread for lining (optional).
