Use your favorite yarn to make a fun overlay mosaic crochet poncho, worked in one piece from the ribbed cowl down to the bottom picot border; and, since the overlay mosaic crochet is worked in the round, there are no extra ends to weave in!

This poncho can be made in any size from infant to adult, or even for an 18″ doll! Instructions and charts are provided to explain how to use your gauge swatch to determine the neck opening as well as how many design panels to use to create your perfect size! You can achieve similar sizes with different yarns by adjusting the number of design panels included in the poncho. This allows you to have a lighter-weight poncho for spring and a heavier-weight poncho for colder weather! What size will you make first?

There are seventeen different design panels included in this pattern, each with written instructions and a design chart for reference. All designs have a multiple of 16 stitches, so you can pick and choose, and use them in any order to customize your project.

Gauge:
The pattern provides gauge information for lace, fingering, DK and worsted weight yarn. Instructions are also given to use your own gauge.

Yardage:
An estimated yardage chart is provided for lace to worsted weight yarn in sizes from infant to adult; however, total yardage needed is dependent on many factors, such as yarn choice, hook, gauge, cowl width, choice of design panels and number of design panels used.

ADDED BONUS: Instructions for an Afghan Center are also provided so you can make a fun afghan using your favorite yarn and any of the design panels. This makes a great stash-buster project!

This pattern is written in U.S. terms.
