Mossy is the kids version of Moss, a meshy top that adds texture to your child’s wardrobe from spring to autumn, think beach in the summer and layers in the autumn…

The hem rests neatly around the hips, with slight waist shaping from size 5 and up.

Knit from the top down the shoulders are joined by a provisional cast on. The chest is knit flat joining under the arms and then knit in the round. The sleeve and neckline ribbing is added after blocking.

On my blog jadefletcherknits.wordpress.com you have special access to extra tutorials, tips, tricks and expanded explanations. Some tutorials are public but things specific to this pattern need the included password.

There is 5-8 cm (2-3“) positive ease built into the top. Choose sizes by the child’s ‘actual chest’ measurement. Or use the finished garment measurements on the pattern.

You need to knit and block a swatch of Eyelet Moss to ensure you have the right gauge. As a lace it is much smaller before blocking, the wearer might not even squeeze into it prior to blocking. There is a tutorial on making this gauge swatch accurately on my blog.
