Pattern Description from Knitting for Peace: “This bear is worked in one long piece, beginning with the front legs and trouser, front sweater, front and back head, back sweater, and back trousers and legs. Arms are picked up and knit afterwards. Once you get the basic pattern down, you can embellished and personalize the bear any way you wish.”

Finished Measurements: Approximately 12” tall (size will vary with yarn and stitch patterns used).

Yarn Notes: Approximately 50 yards in each of 3 colors of worsted-weight yarn are needed: MC (main color for hands, feet, and face of bear), TC (trouser color), and SC (sweater color). Additional scraps of contrasting colors (CC) for scarf. Samples in book are shown in Mission Falls 1924 Wool (100% superwash merino), Reynolds Signature (80% acrylic/20% wool), and Brown Sheep Company Lamb’s Pride Super Wash (100% superwash wool).

Needles: One pair straight needles size US 7 (4.5 mm)

Notions: Yarn needle, small amount of lightweight yarn or embroidery floss for face, polyester fiberfill
