“The thing is, it’s that Detroiters are hard workers. We’ve always been hard workers, even when times are down. I’ve been able to take that with me, that work ethic, to help me build my career.”
-Loni Love

Michelle Grace designed the Mother of Motors Shawl as an homage to Detroit’s automotive industry and the Pontchartrain Hotel, which in 1908 hosted a meeting between the greatest pioneers of the automobile: Henry Ford, Billy Durant, Benjamin Briscoe, and R.E. Olds (learn so much more in issue seven!). A beautiful tribute piece, the Mother of Motors Shawl will stand out as a work of art.

Overflowing with twelve beautiful designs featuring local indie yarn dyers and stunning views of the Michigan landscape, this issue is our largest yet! The knitting patterns include a hat, socks, shawls, and sweaters, and range from fingering weight to worsted and from beginner to advanced. Fall in love with Michigan from the comfort of your home; explore the region with us as you turn the pages, meet the local indie dyers, and pick a new project to cast on.
