Aalta Ethical Fur was an easy inspiration for a warm hat. With the “fur” on the wide brim and Mirasol Ushya to top it off, this hat is a very quick knit on large needles. You can make a smaller size using smaller needles. It reminded the designer of cold winters and ice being harvested on ponds in the northeast. Moultonborough, NH was known for harvesting ice—hence the name of our hat.
