This is a pattern for an ornately cabled shawl. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for a scarf, (8 inches wide), and a Warm Pocket Shawl (similar to these (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=...) (28 inches wide x 78 inches long) giving you the choice of what you’d like to make.
This shawl is knitted with light worsted weight. The shawl is approximately 20 1/2 inches x 74 inches, but can be altered as stated above, and requires approximately 1000 - 1200 yards. The focal cable stitch comes to us from Canada and the creative mind of Annie Maloney.
The stitches are Charted ONLY.
Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. This pattern was expertly tested by Laura Westin who can be reached at: Gax000w !at gmail.com and was knit using Handmaiden, Fleece Artist’s Organic Chinook and requires approximately 1200 yards to make the shawl that is shown in the pictures. The Pocket Shawl requires about 1650 yards of yarn.
