The Mountain Laughter shawl features side-to-side construction and bold garter stitch stripes that frame diamond lace panels. The bold colors used in the sample were custom dyed by Twist Fiber Studio for the exclusive 2016 Into the Wool Fiber Retreat kit, but this would make an excellent stash busting project!

Stash busting yarn specs (sock or fingering weight):
-5 different colors, 90 yards (approx. 20 grams) each
OR 10 colors, 45 yards (approx. 10 grams) each (depending on how wild you want to get)
-230 yards (approx. 90 grams) of a neutral or contrasting solid for the lace panels (depending on how wild you want to get)
Keep in mind that weights and yardage will vary with manufacturers. Use a scale to be sure.
